Blum European Clip Top Inserta Hinges Instructions

All hinges we sell will fit this pattern. Many, but not all manufactures hinges will fit this.  This is a 35mm and two 8mm holes.  We drill this pattern ONLY, all 3 holes. Some people call these concealed hinges, hidden hinges and invisible hinges.

To "Clip" the Hinge to the Plate, hold as shown and rock hinge forward on plate.

Pinch Hinge and Plate together near end to "Clip" them together.  Can be removed with the small lever on end of hinge, more on this later.  ( Can be tricky to do when hinge and plate are not fastened to your cabinets)

BLUM INSERTA CLIP TOP HINGES

This is where this Hinge pulls ahead of others.  Have the top of Hinge opened as shown and drop in holes, all the way to bottom.

With thumb pressure, or thumbs in some cases, rock the top of the Hinge in direction shown until it snaps in place.  The first BIG DEAL on this Concealed Hinge.

Look at that FINISHED hinge installed on the door. Unless you worked with the other types of hinges you might not appreciate this easy method of installing a hidden Hinge to a door. But believe me, we would give up sliced bread before this invisible Hinge. Many cabinet shops use these as they can transport their doors separate from the boxes and very easily re-install when on site.  Also removal for finishing is very fast ( see later ) as we do fit all doors before staining and top coating right?

Install on Cabinet FACE FRAME

When you have the Plates on the Hinges and the Hinges on the door, hold the Plate to the "edge" of your face frame. You will see 2 little TABS on the Plate, move the Plate back until these are touching the FACE of your frame. Your distance back is now set.

Three hands or an extra person will make this easier for you. A strip clamped to the bottom of your cabinet boxes also works ok to keep all the doors lined up evenly.  Use 2 wood screws (not included) suitable for your material to fasten the Plate to the cabinet frame. Keep the screws in the middle of the elongated holes, this will give you up & down adjustment if needed.

Install on Gable.

If your cabinets are frameless, you can still use this Plate as described above.  Try that with a cheap gable Plate from the box stores. Where is 37mm back, etc? Don't take me wrong, that system is ok if you're set up for it, but are YOU?

Now the fun begins.

You have 6 way adjustment here:  #3 will allow you up and down.  #2 moves the door left and right.  AND #1, the second BIG DEAL on this Hinge. This CAM screw will move the door in and out. CAM means there is no need to loosen a screw first, move the door and retighten the screw. This and the "Thumb" pressure to install this Hinge to the door makes this a CLIP TOP INSERTA.

Removing door from cabinet.

If you tried this with just the Hinge and Plate, you probably gave up. BUT, with it fastened to the cabinet it will be easy.  At the end of the Hinge is a small lever, rock it towards the face of the Hinge and the Hinge and Plate will separate. It's a good idea to hold the door at this point!

Remember I told you about this earlier, to remove the Hinge from the door for finishing? Put a screw driver in the little hole in the middle of the back of the Hinge and lift the top up, off comes the Hinge, you can use the knuckle of the Hinge to rest the shaft on and push down on the handle of the screw driver if you wish.
